Strauss - Waltzes - Yakov Kreizberg - Wiener Symphoniker

Since the demise of Telarc (OK, not a total demise but hardly at full vigor since its purchase by Concord), Pentatone is surely the finest recording studio in existence dedicated to recording large scale classical works. They know how to record a symphony orchestra and are still, thank the heavens above, recording them in multi-channel SACD. May they never cease doing so. These delightful Strauss waltzes never sounded better and were never better played. You may like more ad libitum in your Strauss than you'll hear here, but that is purely a personal preference. I don't care how many copies of the Blue Danube you own, add this one to your shelf.
